FAQ
SponsBody FAQ
SponsBody is a marketplace where athletes sell sponsorship spots on their body for a specific race, and brands claim them in a doubling auction.
The basics
What is SponsBody?
SponsBody lets athletes sell sponsorship spots on their body for a specific race. You scan yourself into a 3D model, pick the spots you want to sell (chest, shoulders, back, quads), and brands buy them on your public page. On race day you wear their logos as temporary tattoos or printed on your kit.
Who runs SponsBody?
SponsBody is run by Slam Dunk Labs Oy (business ID 3574810-7), Sörnäistenkatu 1, 00580 Helsinki, Finland. For questions, email max@slamdunklabs.com.
Is SponsBody affiliated with HYROX?
No. SponsBody is not affiliated with HYROX or any other race organizer, and it does not organize races. Athletes should check the event's rules on sponsor logos before they publish a page, because they differ between events and divisions.
Is it allowed at HYROX and other races?
Rules differ by event, and the organizer decides. SponsBody is not affiliated with HYROX or any other race organizer and cannot give permission. HYROX's season 26/27 rulebooks do not mention sponsor tattoos or logos, and the 2026/2027 participation terms we read (France and the USA) say participants may not promote or endorse a business that is not contracted to HYROX or the local organizer in connection with the event. Ask your event's organizer in writing before you sell spots.
Which spots can an athlete sell?
Athletes can sell chest, upper back, shoulders, quads, biceps, lower back, forearms, calves and triceps. Each athlete chooses which spots to offer for a race and sets an opening price for each.
For athletes
How much can I earn?
It depends on your audience. Marc Lou raised $112,000 for one HYROX race with around 400,000 followers. An athlete with a few thousand engaged followers should expect hundreds to a few thousand euros. We show you a suggested price for each spot, based on your verified reach, before you publish.
Tattoo or kit print?
Both. You choose per race: temporary logo tattoos on skin, printed patches on your race kit, or a mix. Temporary tattoos wash off after the race, so nothing is permanent.
How do sponsors know my numbers are real?
You connect Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or a Facebook Page and we read your followers and average views straight from the platform. Sponsors see a Verified badge per platform with the date of the last update. Self-reported numbers are never shown to sponsors.
What if an athlete cannot race?
The athlete should tell SponsBody as soon as they know. SponsBody refunds the sponsors affected, and the athlete is not paid for those spots.
For brands
How does a brand pay, and what does it get?
A brand opens an athlete's page, picks a spot, uploads its logo and pays the price shown through Stripe's checkout. It does not need a SponsBody account. The logo appears on the athlete's page once the payment goes through. At the race the athlete wears the logo where and as shown on the page, and the brand gets race-day photos or videos plus mentions on the athlete's social channels. Stripe sends a receipt.
Can a brand choose which spot it gets?
Yes. The athlete decides which spots are for sale (chest, upper back, shoulders, quads, biceps, lower back, forearms, calves and triceps), and each spot has its own price. A brand picks a spot that is for sale on the athlete's 3D model, uploads its logo and sees it on the body before paying.
What if another brand takes over my spot?
Until bidding closes, another brand can take a spot over by paying double the current price. If that happens, SponsBody refunds the first brand's payment in full, minus card processing fees, to the card it paid with, and emails it. While bidding is open, the first brand can take the spot back by paying double the new price.
How does a brand know an athlete's reach is real?
Athletes connect their own social accounts, and SponsBody reads followers, average views per post and engagement rate from the platform, not from the athlete. The athlete's page shows a Verified badge per platform with the date of the last update. If no account is connected, the page says Not verified. SponsBody does not promise any particular reach or result.
Is the logo a temporary tattoo or a kit print?
The athlete chooses for each race: temporary tattoos on skin, logos printed on the race kit, or both, spot by spot. Temporary tattoos come off after the race. The athlete's page shows how the logos will be worn.
What happens if the athlete does not race?
If the athlete does not race, or races without the brand's logo, the brand gets a full refund. The athlete is not paid for those spots.
Which logos are accepted?
A brand must own its logo or have the right to use it, and the logo must follow SponsBody's content rules: nothing that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights, nothing hateful, harassing, violent, sexual, discriminatory, false or misleading, and nothing that promotes tobacco or nicotine products, weapons, illegal drugs or gambling. SponsBody or the athlete may refuse a logo that breaks the terms or the race's rules, and the brand is then refunded, minus card processing fees.
When does bidding close?
Bidding closes 7 days before the race at 20:00 UTC, so logos can be printed in time. After that, the spot belongs to the last brand that paid.
Prices, fees and payouts
How much does a body sponsorship spot cost?
There is no fixed price. The athlete sets an opening price for each spot, and every takeover after that costs double the current price. SponsBody suggests the opening price from the athlete's verified reach: for a chest spot, 25 per 1,000 average views per post, kept between 50 and 2,500, in euros or US dollars depending on the athlete's page. Other spots are priced as a share of the chest spot.
How does SponsBody suggest opening prices?
SponsBody takes the average views per post of the athlete's strongest verified social account; accounts on different platforms are never added together. If the platform reports no views, it assumes 25% of the athlete's followers see a post. A chest spot is suggested at 25 per 1,000 views, kept between 50 and 2,500 (the cap is reached at 100,000 average views) and rounded to a round number. Every other spot is priced as a share of the chest price. Without verified reach, a chest spot is suggested at 100. These are suggestions: the athlete sets the final prices.
How does the takeover auction work?
Every spot has a starting price. Any brand can take over a spot by paying double the current price. The previous sponsor is refunded in full, minus card fees. Bidding closes 7 days before your race so logos can be printed in time.
What does it cost to take over a spot?
A brand takes over a spot by paying double the current price. A spot that opens at €150 goes to €300, then €600, then €1,200. The previous sponsor is refunded in full, minus card processing fees, and bidding closes 7 days before the race at 20:00 UTC.
What does SponsBody charge?
Listing spots is free. SponsBody keeps 15% of what the final sponsor of each spot pays, and the athlete receives the rest after the race. Brands pay the price shown on the spot.
When do I get paid?
Payments are held until the race is done and you have posted your race-day photos. Then the money is paid out to you, minus the SponsBody fee.
How are athletes paid out?
Brands' payments are held until the athlete's race is done and the athlete has posted race-day photos. SponsBody then pays the athlete what the final sponsor of each spot paid, minus the 15% fee, to the payout details the athlete provides. Athletes are responsible for the taxes on what they earn.
Which currencies does SponsBody use?
Prices are in euros (€) or US dollars ($). The athlete picks one currency for each race and brands pay in that currency, so a page shows its prices in euros or in dollars, never both.
Data and privacy
Where does SponsBody store data?
SponsBody's database and files are on Supabase servers in Ireland, and the website is hosted by Vercel in Dublin, both in the EU. A few services are outside the EU: body-scan photos, for example, go to Tripo in Hong Kong, and only after the athlete gives explicit consent. The Privacy Policy lists every provider.
What happens to body-scan photos?
An athlete takes one to three photos in training kit to build a 3D model. With the athlete's explicit consent they are sent to Tripo (Hong Kong), which builds the model, and SponsBody deletes them from its storage as soon as the build finishes, usually within a few minutes. The scan is optional: a page can also be set up with a stand-in body.
Does SponsBody track visitors or use cookies?
SponsBody uses no advertising or tracking cookies, so it shows no cookie banner. Page views are counted anonymously with PostHog on EU servers in Germany, without cookies or browser storage, and SponsBody never sells personal data.
Can an athlete delete their account?
Yes, at any time from the dashboard. That deletes the page, body scan, photos, social account data and login. If sponsor payments are not settled yet, the athlete should email SponsBody first so they can be settled. Sales and payment records stay for bookkeeping, without the athlete's name on them.
